The first fly looks more like a soldier fly than a syrphid. I may be wrong but would like to know what it is for sure. Polinizador (talk) 13:28, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's a typo in the image. The image in the upper right hand corner says "blteatus" instead of "balteatus". 62.145.19.66 (talk) 10:27, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The first photo is NOT a soldier fly; it is definitely a Ceriana species, as indicated. If it would be confused with anything, it would be confused with the genus Conops Conopidae). Dyanega (talk) 23:27, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
