Um...[edit]

Don't you think he looks a little like a Klansman? This is bound to raise hackles somewhere eventually. — Hex (❝?!❞) 04:33, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think it looks like a little cabalist. More obviously a cartoon. I doubt anyone will cause a fuss about a cartoon, it's called humor I think. §hepTalk 05:07, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This is the Web... there are some extremely humor-impaired people out there. Be warned! [wails in ghostly fashion and rattles chains]Hex (❝?!❞) 15:26, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it's in pretty terrible taste to draw cartoon klansmen reading our community newsletter. (And there's a difference between being humor-impaired and being aware of offensive things!) -- phoebe / (talk to me) 06:22, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That was fairly tongue in cheek on my part, to be honest. I certainly felt my humor impaired when I saw this first. — Hex (❝?!❞) 06:26, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Heh :) Far be it for me to be the humor police, when I've spent years complaining about how stuffy Wikipedians are! But... yes, this is pretty over the top. -- phoebe / (talk to me) 06:27, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It should be noted that the image is on commons (File:The little cabalist is reading Signpost.png) so deletion discussions need to go there. §hepTalk 06:32, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think there's any need to delete it, but I agree that it's not appropriate for the Signpost. Since the discussion report is DRAMA, not CABAL, maybe we could commission an image around the drama theme, e.g., with the tragedy/comedy masks (on Wikipe-tan, perhaps?)--ragesoss (talk) 06:49, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Note also, this was derived from an image for WikiMag, the French counterpart to the Signpost. Obviously, people in robes and pointed hoods have quite a different cultural resonance in the U.S.--ragesoss (talk) 06:52, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
