this Picture could use a update. the actual population stops before 2010. and current estimated population is not 7 billion as would be indicated by the medium estimate its very possible were on the green line which is the low estmate casue world population has not crossed 6.8 billion yet and wont hit that till Febuary of this year. id like to see a revised picture of this.

An update would indeed be nice. However, the UN 2008 estimates (World population estimates) give a pop. of 9.15 billion in 2050, which is higher than the medium estimate here. (They expect 6.9 billion people in 2010 there, which will be close to the truth by year's end.) --Roentgenium111 (talk) 22:21, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

acording to wikipedia Earth human population crossed 6.8 billion as of today. and this is not what it was projected to be just a week or two ago or else it would still be 6.79 billion something number of people. regardles its clearly year 2010 and earths population hasnt hit 7 billion nor will we hit that number this year. human population growth is following the low growth line.

theres no ways that earths population will be at 6.9 billion by end of 2010. 100 million people growth is not possible for the world in one year. the growth has been slowing rapidly for decades. my guess is 6.87 is more likely figure for years end thats off the top of my head. world adds only about 75 million people per year its not going to randomly jump up to 100 million this year. plus we had the horrible tragity of 2010 haiti earthquake another mego death earth quake could hit by end of year. each one of thos quakes slows world population to a standstill for a peroid lasting a few days.

This isn't the right place to argue about whether the predictions are correct. JBazuzi (talkcontribs) 01:37, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This file is old and dated and incorrectly reflects the current world population. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.32.166.162 (talk) 22:04, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Units

[edit]

In the next update, can we switch the units from Millions to Billions, and get rid of all those useless "000", please? JBazuzi (talkcontribs) 01:37, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
