Greenland: Migration is an upcoming American post-apocalyptic survival thriller film directed by Ric Roman Waugh and written by Chris Sparling and Mitchell LaFortune. It is a sequel to the 2020 film Greenland, and is estimated to be released early 2025 by Lionsgate.[2]

Synopsis

"The survived Garrity family must leave the safety of the Greenland bunker and embark on a perilous journey across the decimated wasteland of Europe to find a new home."[3][4]

In June 2021, it was announced a sequel titled Greenland: Migration was in development, and the following month, STX acquired the worldwide distribution rights for the film at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival for $75 million[5] and agreed to give the sequel a $65 million budget. It was put into bankruptcy protection,[6] the cast returned, and while Morena Baccarin was initially reluctant, she eventually agreed return for the sequel.[7]

Filming

Principal photography began on April 29, 2024, in the United Kingdom and Iceland.[8][9] The project wrapped in July 2024.[10]
