Nahal Hukok is one of the tributaries of Nahal Amud in the Upper Galilee. Its length is approximately eight kilometers.

Geography

[edit]

The source of Nahal Hukok is on the slopes of the Livnim Ridge between the village of Maghar and the settlement of Kalanit, at an elevation of 50 meters above sea level. The stream crosses Highway 65, flows eastward south of Hukok, and empties into Nahal Amud near Amud Cave, which is north of the Livnim settlement at an elevation of 140 meters below sea level.[1]

The stream is home to the tomb of the prophet Habakkuk (after whom the nearby Mount Habakkuk is named),[2] the tomb of Rabbeinu Bahya,[3] and near the stream is Ein Hukok (Ein Habakkuk).[4]
