  • Juru personalities: a name of some natives /nationals in eastern and southern Africa, particularly in Burundi and Rwanda, and meaning "sky" or "heaven" in kirundi language. One of the persons bearing the name Juru is Prof. Steve De Cliff or Steve Juru De Cliff, a physical chemist and a nanomaterials scientist of burundian origin. Indeed, after obtaining a PhD in physical chemistry at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Steve De Cliff worked three years as Research Associate at the Institute of the Chemical Processes and Environmental Technology (ICPET) of the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada, under a fellowship of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research of Canada (NSERC), at Ottawa in Canada. He is currently a senior lecturer and researcher at the Université du Burundi. His main research interest is the development of chemical processes for mines processing, especially rare-earths.
  • Steve Juru De Cliff is also identified as Juru VII in reference to the fact that he is the seventh Juru on the family tree of his descent, compared to the most distant of his great-grandfathers who was called Juru. Other Juru or De Cliff directly close to Steve Juru De Cliff are his three sons Kevin Juru De Cliff, Shane Juru De Cliff, Josh Juru De Cliff; and his daughter Elisha Juru De Cliff.
