Leitrim is an OC Transpo transit station located in the suburban community of Leitrim in Ottawa, Ontario.[2] Situated on Gilligan Road, it serves as a vital transportation hub connecting residents to downtown Ottawa and other parts of the city.

Overview[edit]

Leitrim station, scheduled to open in 2024, is part of Ottawa's extensive transit expansion under the Stage 2 LRT project. It will play a crucial role in enhancing regional connectivity and reducing traffic congestion in the southern suburbs.

Station Facilities[edit]

The station features two elevated side platforms designed for efficient boarding and alighting of passengers. It includes modern amenities such as sheltered waiting areas, bicycle shelters, and accessible parking spaces. The park-and-ride facility initially offers 290 spaces, with plans to expand to accommodate up to 925 vehicles in the future.[3]

Trillium Line Extension[edit]

The extension of the Trillium Line to Leitrim is part of Ottawa's efforts to expand its light rail network. This project aims to provide fast and reliable transit options for residents, connecting them to major employment centers and educational institutions across the city.

O-Train Service[edit]

Upon completion of the O-Train South extension, Leitrim will become a key station on Line 2, serving the Findlay Creek community and surrounding areas. It will feature enhanced facilities including a fare-paid bus loop with multiple shelters and staff facilities, ensuring seamless integration between bus and rail services.[4]
