Status report from the Portals WikiProject

Wikipedia:WikiProject Portals is back!

The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018.

Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, and design the portals of the future.

As of April 29th, membership is at 56 editors, and growing.

There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for each component of portals.

Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.

And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.

2020 portal updates

The following updates were performed to the Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2020, North America¹⁰⁰⁰ 12:24, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Updated portal using Template:Transclude random excerpt, which provides readers with current, up-to-date information that is verbatim to that in articles. A consensus approving the usage of transclusion templates in portals was formed at this Village Pump discussion. Used selections moved to the main portal page from Portal:Bosnia and Herzegovina/Selected article and Portal:Bosnia and Herzegovina/Selected biography.
Added more articles to the Selected article and Selected biography sections, many of which are recognized content articles (e.g. GA-class). This has served to provide readers with more content and to round-out the portal to provide a more comprehensive topical overview.
Replaced the dated, single selected picture at Portal:Bosnia and Herzegovina/Featured picture with a new General images section, that displays multiple images from various Bosnia and Herzegovina-related articles.
Added a new topics section
Added new DYK entries to subpages of Portal:Bosnia and Herzegovina/Did you know
