Statrys is a French-founded, Hong Kong–based financial technology company founded by Bertrand Théaud in 2018 and soft launched in 2019. Currently, Statrys' primary offers are a multi-currency business account, payment cards, foreign exchange services[1][2][3], and company incorporation services in Hong Kong and Singapore.
History
[edit]In 2019, Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK), a government department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) responsible for Foreign Direct Investment, invited Bertrand Théaud to its Annual Reception held in December 2019[4]
The next year, Statrys launched multi-currency business accounts in Hong Kong and obtained US$5 million in funding through a private arrangement with an angel investor based in the region.[5][6]
In 2022, the fintech achieved a US$2 billion transaction volume, joined the SWIFT network, and launched the Statrys mobile application.[7] It also expands to provide company formation services.[8]
In 2023, the company added a SWIFT payment tracking feature to the platform.[9] The same year, they were named SME Payment Solutions of the Year - Hong Kong at the ABF Retail Banking Awards 2023[10]
Statrys expanded to Singapore in the first quarter of 2024 to offer company incorporation services.[11] In terms of business accounts, it received the Hong Kong Business Awards 2024 in the Fintech—Payments category.[12]

In the United Kingdom, Statrys UK Limited is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a Small Payment Institution (FRM: 911226).[14]
