[edit]

the following contradicts writing elsewhere in the article

Red Army photographer Yevgeny Khaldei took the picture of soldiers Oleksiy Berest, Mikhail Yegorov and Meliton Kantaria of the Division's 756th Rifle Regiment hoisting the flag (called the Victory Banner) on 2 May 1945 on the roof of the Reichstag building.[1] An earlier flag had been raised the day before while the building was being fought over with remaining German soldiers. However, as the flag was raised after dusk, there was no chance to take a picture. After taking the shot with the flag Khaldei rushed back to Moscow. It was later decided that the true persons on the photo, Kovaliev and his comrade, were not politically correct. So they became Meliton Kantaria (a Georgian, like Stalin) and Mikhail Iegorev (a Russian).

as is it says kovaliev and his comrade were the true people on the photograph, but were changed to kantaria and iegorev. maybe this is true, i don't know, but it contradicts the rest of the article which says kantaria and iegorev where in the picture

Move

[edit]

150th Rifle Division (Russia) (currently a redirect to 150th Guards Motor Rifle Division)  150th Rifle Division (currently a redirect instead to 150th Guards Motor Rifle Division) – common name since no other countries have a rifle division with this number, incorrect disambiguation since the current Russian unit is called a Motor Rifle Division Kges1901 (talk) 21:42, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kges1901. This has been done, 150th Rifle Division (Russia) remains as a redirect to avoid breaking incoming links. 150th Motor Rifle Division (Russia) and 150th Rifle Division (Soviet Union) also point to this article. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 22:19, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: moved. Unopposed nomination. Proposed move is backed by WP:NAMECHANGES, as well as "relative notability", a term which alludes to the "long-term significance" criterion of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. 150th Rifle Division150th Motor Rifle Division – Relative notability of incarnations. While this might well be WP:RECENTISM, the involvement of the division, under its current name, in the ongoing invasion of Ukraine is probably more notable than its being the ones to raise the flag over the Reichstag.
