A World War II veteran , that died two weeks ago, told me, some years ago, that this weapon was amazing:precise, reliable, long range and available in great numbers.He used it in Italy, between 1944 and 1945.Agre22 (talk) 15:15, 29 August 2008 (UTC)agre22[reply]

I added a link to the army's page for General Westervelt which includes a few sentences on the army's review of its artillery. The (155 mm gun M1) article still says the M1's development was influenced by the "Westervelt Board" (named in his honor). So why remove the link and claim it is "Not an appropriate link".
