Final day

[edit]

Is the final not on 20 May 2011? La Fuzion (talk) 23:21, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind as RFEF.es does have it on 20 April... La Fuzion (talk) 23:26, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain why it isn't relevant, instead of just saying it isn't. Thanks. Lugnuts (talk) 19:21, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, a "broken" trophy when the team is/was celebrating is not important for this article. It may be useful for the Copa del Rey main article but it has nothing to do with the final itself. Kante4 (talk) 19:28, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
How can you say it has nothing to do with the final? It is victory in this game they were celebrating! Pointer1 (talk) 14:54, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree with Kante4 (talk). Qampunen (talk) 20:11, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't agree. The trophy broke during the celebrations of teh match. How we don't view this as related is frankly beyond me. It is common in wikipedia articles to ahve a section entitled 'aftermath' or 'reactions' or whatever.--Johnsemlak (talk) 09:11, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The 2010 FIFA World Cup Final article contains several sections related to events before and after the match itself. This seems totally consistant to including a description of players celebrating their victory in the match that is the subject of the article.--Johnsemlak (talk) 09:21, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The following articles 1999 UEFA Champions League Final, 2002 UEFA Champions League Final, 2005 UEFA Champions League Final, 2006 UEFA Champions League Final, 1966 FIFA World Cup Final also have sections about events happening after the final, and indeed celebrations. For consistency then a similar section for this article is appropriate. As the events in Madrid on the evening of 20 April 2011 are directly related to this match, then this is the correct article to record them. Pointer1 (talk) 14:54, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Could you give me an example or could you confirm that these sections exist on any domestic cup in Europe? Notice that the articles you've mentioned are all World Cups or UEFA Champions Leagues... Qampunen (talk) 15:16, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
1980 Scottish Cup Final, 2008 Scottish Cup Final, 2010 FA Cup Final, 1996 FA Cup Final, 2009 Coppa Italia Final Pointer1 (talk) 15:39, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough Qampunen (talk) 15:46, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You can all now thank me for getting this on the frontpage. The cup dropping incident was featured on the UK news for a couple of days. I doubt they would have even mentioned the final if that hadn't had happened. Lugnuts (talk) 08:05, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
