Events leading to the collapse[edit]

Reformat[edit]

Propose doing away with the format and provide a narrative account of the dam without being split by date. It is discouraging to insert data here that cannot be compartmentalized by date, particularly since there are many communities that are only belatedly reporting damage later. Mistranslation[edit]

It wasn’t a dam but what’d properly be called a levee or embankment - an earthen embankment on the river bank. Russian ”damba” can mean both but ”dam” in English is a narrower term, and thus a bit of a ”false friend” word. 95.193.146.155 (talk) 16:51, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
