Conflict of interest
[edit]Completely agree with the conflict of interest point: I am one of the lead authors of AMBIT and have started this page off.
I have made it clear in the text that this is a novel treatment method, and that as yet we await randomised controlled trial evidence (a partially-randomised trial is starting in the East of England in 2013). I have quoted a peer reviewed paper about AMBIT and two book chapters to demonstrate some external interest in AMBIT along with the growing number of teams that have had training in this method of working. I do not have any financial interest in AMBIT, as all trainings and consultations are conducted through the Anna Freud Centre charity. Other contributions from less closely connected commentators would be most welcome! Dickonbevington (talk) 22:59, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for your honesty. I removed the proposed deletion tag and I can say that I have no connection whatsoever with AMBIT. Lova Falk talk 13:35, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
- The COI tag was removed along with the Prod notice in 2012; I have reinstated it, given the substantial contribution by someone associated with AMBIT. AllyD (talk) 07:30, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
Removed proposed deletion tag
[edit]I removed the proposed deletion tag. The main reason that was given for the proposed deletion was: "While this program may have won an award for innovative collaboration, the actual method has only been described by one set of authors, and has not yet been covered in independent sources. Fails WP:N."
My argument is as we speak (or to be more exact, as we edit) AMBIT is getting more notable. AMBIT is already spreading from England to other countries, such as the Netherlands and Denmark, and it is discussed in this Swedish article. These are just examples that I found after a quick search on the net. Now that AMBIT has won an award, it will spread even more. If the article is deleted today, it will need to be undeleted tomorrow. Well, maybe in a couple of months... Lova Falk talk 13:25, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
Independent Reviews added as inline references
[edit]I have added two inline references to existing independent reviews in the UK (Centre for Mental Health, and Youth Justice Working Group. Should have added these earlier. Sorry. Dickonbevington (talk) 21:11, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia. Sometimes we forget this, but it takes a while to get a decent article together. You'll get there eventually. Please keep adding independent sources whenever you find them.
- Wikipedia articles about psychology have a lot of weaknesses, especially for basic areas. The goal is to get really top-quality textbooks, reviews, and other good sources in them, so if you see a problem, even unrelated to your specialty area, please do what you can to help fix it. [edit]Does anyone have any idea to what size the image should be reduced? It's rather large. Me, Myself & I (talk) 02:51, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Potential title change
[edit]Copying part of an edit summary to here: "I have a question for more experienced editors - really we ought to change the TITLE of this page from "Adolescent Mentalization..." to "Adaptive Mentalization..." as the AMBIT program has renamed itself thus in recognition of the wider age range that it is now being used with. As an inexperienced editor, I am not sure how to do that - maybe just open a new page up, and cut and paste this content across, and then put a disambiguation/forwarding note on the old title (which many people still know it as)??? advice or help gratefully received!" - text from edit summary by Dickonbevington, copied to aid discussion and resolution. AllyD (talk) 19:48, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
- Copy-paste is definitely the wrong way to go about such a change, as it loses the proper attribution of contributions to the text. A retitle is much better. Before doing that, I have had a quick look at the linked pages which should also be re-linked. Some may in themselves need adjustment, such as Mentalization-based treatment whose text relating to AMBIT places focus on the original age range? If so, please propose such a change on the relevant Talk page, as the appropriate way when one has a WP:COI. AllyD (talk) 19:57, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
- Now moved to requested revised title.AllyD (talk) 20:04, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
