Proposed deletion of File:GCC Champions League.jpg[edit]

The file File:GCC Champions League.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free former logo being used in a WP:DECORATIVE manner in a gallery of former logos in GCC Champions League#Logos which fails WP:NFCC#8 and WP:NFG. Non-free former logos can be used as long as their use complies with WP:NFC#cite_note-4 and this almost always means the logo itself about the logo and the associated change in brandling that led to its replacement is the subject of sourced critical commentary. Simply adding the logo to "show" what it looks like is not considered sufficient to satisfy WP:NFC#CS, except in cases where the logo is being used for primary identification purposes at the top of or in the main infobox of an article about the organization the logo represents.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Arabian Gulf Champions Cup → GCC Club Cup – The page was moved from its original title of GCC Club Cup without any discussion being had or any source to support the move. I assume this was done because the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation announced it will be holding a tournament for Gulf clubs, however there is no confirmation of even the name of the tournament yet, let alone whether it will be considered as a continuation of GCC Club Cup or as a new separate tournament. Actually all participanting clubs and federations have announced and name it The GCC champions league or Gulf champions league

check Qatar FA and Kuwait FA respective social media accounts and is a continuation as all sources state and statistics from all media coverage are referring stats to this tournament Khs17 (talk) 23:25, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Khs17: The organiser of the tournament is Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) and they haven't announced anything about the tournament's name or whether it will be a continuation of the GCC Club Cup or not. The GCC Club Cup was not even organised by AGCFF so who is to say they will recognise the old tournament? You can't move an established page title like this based on assumptions from news reports, we need official confirmation from the tournament organiser. Okay we’ll wait and see officiall announcements but a friendly reminder there is no official AGCFF account and the AGCFF was established in 2016

along that the Arabian Gulf Cup was originally organized by a committee between the 6 GCC countries alongside the GCC Club Cup Khs17 (talk) 10:18, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@GiantSnowman: Do you mean you oppose the move back to GCC Club Cup? This was the original title of the page before it was wrongly moved yesterday. This tournament hasn't been held since 2016 and there is no source to state that the tournament's name has changed, so it should be moved back to the original title.
