Minor conflict of sources[edit]

There is some disagreement between De la Sierra and Greene & Massignani concerning the identity of the Italian torpedo boats sunk by the Ajax. In fact, contrary to G & M, De la Sierra claims that the first torpedo boat hit was the Ariel, wich sank very quickly. The second torpedo boat to be struck was the Airone, according to the Spanish author. Since he seems to be better documented, and he makes clear that the commander of the flotilla was Banfi, onboard the Airone, and he also mentions that the commander of the Ariel was Ruta, who became lost with his ship, I cited him for the sequence of the torpedo boat action. Ruta's fate and ship confirmed by the Italian navy website. DagosNavy 15:43, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Another italian navy link about Banfi commanding the Airone. DagosNavy 10:53, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I finally came to an English language source fixing the problem. See External Links section. DagosNavy 01:21, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great work on your part DagosNavy[edit]

what about this book The Hunters And The Hunted [1]. I hope it helps you a lot in letting today's generation know about the experience of the Italian Navy in WW2. Please see the important message I left for you at [2](en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:DagosNavy). The fact that you seem to have the book "Rommel's North Africa Campaign: September 1940-November 1942" really raises my morale. People just don't believe me about the important role of the 7th Bersaglieri in the capture of Mersa Matruh. by Jack Greene, Alessandro Massignani. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Topmalohouse (talkcontribs) 08:51, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
