Let's Change the Title to Billing (cinema)

[edit]

This page started out with the practically impossible-to-remember title "Billing (filmmaking)" then was changed to the slightly less difficult "Billing (performing arts)," which still leaves someone complaining that the site makes no room for television or stage plays. I think someone (who knows how to do it) needs to change the title again, this time to "Billing (cinema)," a title that even I could remember. I don't know about you, but that way I could find the site again myself. And it's more honest and presents more precision, revealing that the site is actually only about theatrical motion pictures, not plays or TV. Let's do it now, before the term "theatrical" unfortunately becomes mysterious to future generations. The Final Edict (talk) 12:01, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

99% Invisible did an episode on billing

[edit]

99% Invisible did an episode on title sequences in movies and, especially, the billing. It would be a good thing to incorporate to this page.

It refers to "stacked" billing as "Laverne & Shirley" billing. It also mentions a controversy with billing on "Outrageous Fortune", where to satisfy both stars, two different prints of the film were made, one with Shirley Long's name first and the other with Bette Midler's first!
