Regarding the name

[edit]

Since Chinese surnames with two syllables are not unheard of, am I correct in assuming that 歐陽 is his surname and 震華 his given name? Also, I've seen his name written as both Bobby Au Yeung and Robert Au Yeung. Which one should be considered more correct? Tasnu Arakun (talk) 19:30, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If possible, someone should move the page to "Bobby Au-Yeung"

[edit]

I tried it, but it says a page with that spelling already exists or it's not valid. Here the explanation:

Misspelled: Mistake in spelling of his double surname: Look William Kwai-sun Chow-Hoon as example.

Only a two syllable given/first name doesnt capitalize the second syllable of the first name.

A double surname are still two seperate names (Au and Yeung), while the first name Tsan-wah=Tsanwah, its one name, like Tsai Ing-wen, Ing-wen=Ingwen.

You can also look at Jin Au-Yeung as example. --Alleingänger (talk) 12:06, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be mistaken. Au-yeung is not a double surname, it is a Chinese compound surname, which is a single surname composed of two or more syllables. How we should deal with the spelling of his surname should ultimately boil down to how he and reliable sources spell his name. _dk (talk) 00:06, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
