Despite the disappointing 2012 season?

[edit]

The Brewers have like 20 more wins than the Cubs. The Cubs were total garbage this year, and the Brewers have a pretty decent line-up, so not sure why that's even included in the article. Also, the rivalry is completely one sided. Any Cubs fan/Cubs player south of the border really have no idea what this rivalry is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.8.196.47 (talk) 05:29, 22 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

is this real?

[edit]

or is this rivalry fabricated by MLB and/or network tv? Kingturtle (talk) 15:39, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hah. I've lived in Chicago for over 30 years, and followed the Chicago Cubs since 1983; Not ONCE, have I ever heard of this so-called 'rivalry' as being the I-94 series. Who makes this crap up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.226.59.217 (talk) 04:27, 24 April 2008 (UTC) "This rivalry has been most prominent since 1998, when the Brewers moved from the American League to the National League." - Haha. _Most_ prominent? Interleague play began in 1997, and the 'rivals' played each other a grand total of 3 times before the Brewers changed leagues. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.226.59.217 (talk) 04:33, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

mark my words: this rivalry is VERY real. after the 2008 season, you'll only see it intensify. the brewers-cubs rivalry very well could become, and this is no exaggeration, bigger than the yankees-red sox rivalry. bigger than that. BIGGER. seriously. you haven't been to chicago or milwaukee lately if you don't recognize this rivalry. these fans want each others' blood.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.81.157.195 (talkcontribs) 08:16, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability concern, again

[edit]

I don't doubt that there's some sort of rivalry. MLB is but a collection of disparate small rivalries. The question isn't whether it's real, but whether it is notable, and this article doesn't really tell us. It tells us the teams are close to each other and play in the same division, and the unsourced "Wrigley Field North" stuff. I don't see any source that specifically talks about the rivalry, as opposed to simply covering events between the two teams. --Mosmof (talk) 22:20, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is a real rivalry, but in the WP sense it may not be real yet. Tracking down this altercation might make a difference in this article's life.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 00:36, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
KEEP I am considering taking this one up to WP:GA myself.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 05:44, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
