Brian BurttB. L. Burtt – Per WP:COMMONNAME: Several obituaries use "B. L. Burtt" ([1], [2]) or his full name. Burtt appears to have published most often as B. L. Burtt (see Internet Archive papers and dominant names at VIAF and WorldCat), and was known to friends and close colleagues as "Bill", not Brian. Although he sometimes published as "Brian L. Burtt" early in his career, that appears to be a less common usage. Thus "Brian Burtt" seems too informal and off the mark, while "Bill Burtt" is overly familiar and "Brian Laurence Burtt" needlessly formal. However, "Brian Laurence Burtt" (the original title of this article), would be a realistic second choice, especially if needed for disambiguation purposes. --Animalparty!
