History?

[edit]

I thought a general article like this would actually include a brief history of Fascism in Britain but it has nothing. One is left going to each of the minor splinter groups and each of their leaders' pages to try and piece together what happened in the 1920s and 1930s. This is a major deficit of this article that limits its usefulness. 69.125.134.86 (talk) 01:33, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Should this article move/develop to Fascism in Britain?

[edit]

I don't personally think that there should be anything intrinsically British about fascism. Search results in books (please don't burn them) are:

More dates please

[edit]

This article discusses British Fascism in the 1930s and maybe also in the 1920s. This should be stated in the lead section. We should also mention post-war Neo-Fascism in Britain, with relevant wikilinks. Verbcatcher (talk) 22:59, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Concern about bias and national insult.

[edit]

The article starts: "British fascism was based on British nationalism."

It seems to contradict its (Wikipedia's) own article which it links to.

It's like saying: "Fascism is based on patriotism for America."

The existence of Britain is not "fascist" or controversial. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.205.241.1 (talk) 18:52, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No contradiction. The article Fascism begins, "Fascism is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism." TFD (talk) 21:20, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Fascism

[edit]

Could anyone change the title of this Wikipedia page? Change the letter "f" to a capital "F"? Charlieo308 (talk) 21:59, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, the lower case "f" is grammatically correct as fascism isn't a proper noun. — Czello 09:29, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Removing "Other influential groups in the 1930s" section

[edit]

I've made a couple of attempts to remove this section but it is being reverted so explaining here the reason for the removal. I added this section within the last two weeks and it is incorrect. I added it based on a misreading of one of the sources. As it's incorrect, it shouldn't be in the article. Instead, I'm going to replace the section with two others - British fascism during WWII and British fascism after WWII - with expansion requests to encourage others to add to those sections. --Woofboy (talk) 11:29, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine; you could have said in edit summaries. I'll self-revert. — Czello 11:30, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
