Finishers

[edit]

Are you sure that the Tongan death grip into a chokeslam and the running splash are considered finishers?70.183.55.107 (talk) 18:55, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ernest 'the Cat' Miller

[edit]

Brodus Clay is a rip off of Ernest the Cat Miller. All you wrestling fans need to look up ERNEST THE CAT MILLER and watch his old WWE videos and read his articles. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you delete it and cover up history. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.76.138.137 (talk) 16:46, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We know who The Cat is, we're not dumb. That unsourced, unnecessary material is not suitable for the Wikipedia page of BRODUS CLAY. InFlamester20 (talk) 17:07, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How the hell is it unsourced? It had links on it. If you don't believe me visit this link and listen to the damn show http://www.blogtalkradio.com/shakerattleandroll/2012/05/19/inside-the-ropes-ernest-the-cat-miller All I want to see is the truth in a damn wikipedia article like this because it is a rip-off. Watch the old videos its the same gimmick and the same damn line. Everyone knows some random hack can go on this site and post shit thats why there really is no credibility to anything on WIKI. I may not know how to post everything correctly but the interview says it. Unless you don't believe it when it comes out of the man's mouth.

Clay has been playing the Funkasaurus character for about 5 months now, he's had more of a career than that so far, this stuff with Miller doesn't belong on Clay's page, at least not at this point in time. That info can go on Miller's page I suppose. Clay is different from Miller anyway as I don't recall Miller being 400 pounds, acting like a dinosaur, and squashing people. The theme and catchphrase is the same, not that big of a deal. Again, this is Brodus Clay's page, a place that info doesn't fit into atm. Glance around WP:NOT, I'm sure there's good info there. InFlamester20 (talk) 17:28, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

FAO 178.76.138.137: Bottom line is this - it doesn't matter what a minor, retired wrestler has claimed on a radio show, it has no significance or notability as it relates to Brodus Clay. You've obviously got the wrong idea about Wikipedia biographies - they're not fansites, forums, gossip pages, news sources or fanwanks. Additionally, you might care to read WP:SOCK as using multiple accounts to try to force your crap onto the article will get you blocked in short order. Cheers. ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹Speak 17:33, 27 May 2012 (UTC) Ok its all good. I ain't posting again but it kinda pissed me off. InFlamester20 I can respect the way you put it the second time. I will just stick to the Ernest Miller thread. The other guy Suriell1981 not so much. I appreciate the way you put. The only reason I tried to put it multiple times was to differentiate between those who were fans trying to block it because they didn't like my comments, which were true and based off of fact. I don't think he's a washed up has-been but that is my opinion. The man wrestled a good while and used the gimmick of the funkmaster in WCW before he got canned in WWE (though the song was always WWE) because they didn't know how to use him properly but now give it someone else who in my view took a great gimmick WWE should have capitalised on. The Cat was funny and cocky all in one. :) On the has been note what happens to Clay when he is long gone and what if the WWE gets smart and bring the Cat back for a rivalry or a team up?? See what I am saying? Anyway, I didn't use multiple accounts I just logged on and off my account and used different computers. My IP is not in the states because I don't live there ATM and probably won't anytime soon. Anyway I respect your opinion InFlamster20. You sounded the most reasonable and never for once did I think this was a gossip site and I know its suppose to be factual but there is a different forum to that approach, i.e Cat's own wikipedia page which I posted on. Sorry for getting riled up over it. Wish you all the best here at WIKI. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bnorris80 (talkcontribs) 22:51, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong birthday

[edit]

There is no way that his birthday in 1980. I went to college with him and he was a senior my first semester there, and that was in 1994. Unless he was the largest 14 year old offensive guard in the history of sports. Mjm 72.8.199.126 (talk) 16:35, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I went to high school with him and he was a year behind me, so I know his birth date is either 1974 or 1975.... not 1980. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.136.201.20 (talk) 16:38, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • You guys may have a point, thanks. The 72 IP pointed to a 1995 LA Times article which said Murdoch was 22 at the time. Have updated the article accordingly to note the dispute. The info is in the Early life section. But from my calculations, 22 in 1995 works out to 1972 or 1973. starship.paint "YES!" 13:42, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I found an archived version of FCW which stated his birthday is on February 21. Therefore he had to be born in 1973 to be between July 1972 and July 1973. Removing the disputed part from Early life, unless someone brings a reliable source for 1980 to the table. starship.paint "YES!" 09:23, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting move

[edit]

Brodus Clay has been out of WWE for nearly 2 years now, and he's been known as Tyrus since then. I feel as if it would be better to change it from Brodus Clay to Tyrus (Wrestler) as he's known as Tyrus now, and probably won't be with WWE any time soon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Littlenimoy (talkcontribs) 17:47, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. He was not too signifigant in the WWE and is long forgotten. Makes sense for article to be named Tyrus. MavsFan28 (talk) 06:11, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Brodus ClayTyrus (wrestler) – See above reasons. He is long gone from the company where he was known as Brodus and is not mentioned by that name anywhere anymore. Tyrus makes more sense as he is now known by that. MavsFan28 (talk) 06:15, 31 January 2016 (UTC)--Relisted. Niceguyedc Go Huskies! 13:03, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Brodus ClayTyrus (wrestler) – Has not used "Brodus Clay" since 2014, WP:NAMECHANGES applies. I'd also argue WP:COMMONNAME applies here, he wrestled further up the card in TNA and now appears regularly on Fox News Channel as Tyrus. JMichael22 proposed this in July. LM2000 (talk) 05:22, 1 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agree Tyrus has been using his name since 2014 and is better known by the name with him being apart of such a large show on the Fox News channel giving him way more exposure under the name Tyrus. JMichael22 (talk) 19:55, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Page move

[edit]

Hello, I moved the page without thinking to check the talk page. I moved it to Clay due to this probably being his common name and also due to WP: NATURALDIS. This lets us avoid the (wrestler) dab. If anyone disagrees feel free to revert, as it was my mistake not seeing the RM discussion from 2017. StaticVapor message me! 19:38, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Added tags

[edit]

I have tagged the section on his wrestling career as being excessively detailed. Approximately 20 paragraphs, many of them lengthy. In contrast, there is almost nothing on his recent career as a commentator, so I tagged that section for expansion. SunCrow (talk) 06:03, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I skimmed through it and sure there is probably stuff that needs to be removed, but I feel the tag is unwarranted. He was a wrestled for 12 years and only has been a commentator for 2-3 so obviously it is going to be a lot longer. StaticVapor message me! 20:49, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Well Static, that's what I mean when I told to you that one of the main complain about pro wrestling articles is the excesive details of the career. For an outsider, the career sections are huge and too detailed. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 01:09, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I definitely feel like the view is skewed in this situation, since the person knows nothing of wrestling. Yet it is what Clay is most known for. If I only knew of The Rock from his movies, I would too be wondering why there is so much wrestling stuff there. I am sure there is plenty to cut in this article, I have not read it at all, and I have rarely edited it. StaticVapor message me! 10:36, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@SunCrow: In fact, maybe you can help us. For example, The Funkusaurus section, it's a large section. How would you write the entire section? What do you think we should change? --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 01:14, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
HHH Pedrigree, I am not sure how to condense it. I don't know enough about pro wrestling to have a good grasp of which facts are encyclopedia-worthy and which aren't. My tendency would be to get rid of almost everything, which probably wouldn't be right. SunCrow (talk) 06:10, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I am removing the tag, I removed a ton of content and I do not see how we could remove anything else really. StaticVapor message me! 19:21, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Censored to protect conservatives?

[edit]

Why is there no mention of him repeatedly exposing himself to Britt McHenry, which got both him and Fox sued for sexual harassment?

in May, an user called sucker for All removed the info. I will include it later. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 12:16, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The way it's stated now is accurate & people can make their own decisions as to why Tyrus is still at FoxNews & she isn't. She "lost" the phone? She can get the provider to produce the data. And to put it in context, if Tyrus didn't sexually harass her, she has a good defense to her false accusation: Brain tumor https://twitter.com/BrittMcHenry/status/1235234076942045187 2601:645:C100:53F0:6C7F:EF36:FD0A:421F (talk) 06:00, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Tyrus (wrestler)

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Tyrus (wrestler)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "OWOW":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. Feel free to remove this comment after fixing the refs. AnomieBOT 01:51, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
