Nomination for In The News[edit]

I have nominated the article as a front page ITN candidate. --Natural RX 20:43, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

I have removed the Notability banner that was added to the article on the following grounds as outlined in WP:EVENT:

  • Lasting effects: The outcomes of the investigation will influence rail transportation in Canada to prevent similar occurences in the future
  • Geographical scope: This is national headline news, and involves a transportation provider that prov ides service across Canada
  • Duration of coverage: The event occurred 24 hours ago.
  • Diversity of sources: Three news sources and two official organizations are cited, more than adequate for the size of the article at this time. This is a brand new article, and increased diversity in sources will be allowed as the Wikipedia community has the chance to contribute to the article.
  • WP:EVENTS also advises "to allow time for a clearer picture of the notability of the event to emerge".

--Natural RX 20:56, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The event received international coverage. It was covered by Sky News in the UK. Mjroots (talk) 11:05, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Final reports?[edit]

It's now been well over a year since the accident. Have their been any final reports, or at least further developments in the investigation? 108.246.205.134 (talk) 06:56, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
