Catholic League (Anglican)Catholic League (England) — A short reason for page name change.— The Catholic League is not an Anglican organisation. It is explicitly ecumenical. It was founded by Anglicans to promote their Church's unity with the Catholic Church in 1913, so it would be a contradiction in terms to apply a confessional bar restricting membership to non-Catholics. Any reference to the Church of England as a context was removed in the 1980s and the League focussed entirely on the ecumenical objective of the Second Vatican Council, the reunion of all Christians in unity with the Catholic Church.
