Peacock

[edit]

Restored the peacock tag. Linguists and archeologists reject his linguistics and archeology as little more than pseudoscience, yet from this article you'd think he's respected in those fields. — kwami (talk) 05:22, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I know this comment is absolutely ancient, but this is NOT correct. While his words are hardly treated as gospel and many of his assertions (particularly in older literature) have been overturned, Ehret remains one of the most influential and best respected scholars in African linguistics and early-Holocene archaeology. Removed the tag along with the more egregious peacock phrasing. — kwami (talk) 05:36, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article in its current state as of 2015-11-18 is missing almost any negative information, making this look like a puff piece. Sampling the page's history suggests that multiple IP addresses have been used to anonymously scrub this article. I note that some of the cleanup work by Kwami was later reverted, effectively re-adding very peacock-y language and fawning reviews. This article seems very unbalanced, and as a result, of dubious value. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 19:26, 18 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
