birthdate

imdb gives her birthdate as November 30, 1982. some of you are removing this information.

if you have proof that this date is wrong, please provide a link to it. if you can find her actual birthday, even better, we can scoop imdb :). --Yoasif 18:00, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

http://www.fleur-delacour.com. IMDB is wrong about a lot of things. That was just a rumor spread by someone. Clemence Poesy refuses to give out her real birthdate. --Ayashe

if you go by that website as source, then why did you delete her birth year too? --Baboo

She said she's 23, so she must have been born in 82. I go by that website, because it's mine, and I'm somewhat of an authority on Clemence. At the Goblet of Fire press junket a journalist said she'd heard Clemence had a birthday coming up (Nov 30) and asked her if she planned on doing anything special. Clemence responded that she heard that as well, but it wasn't her birthday. The person asked what her birthday was, and Clemence said she prefered to keep that private. --Ayashe

you mean you're something of an authority on Clemence?

cleanup

i don't think this article needs cleanup; it seems fine. if there is no response here in a couple of days, i will remove the tag. --Yoasif 15:39, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

"However, the IMDb states her birthday is ..."

I don't feel that this line is necessary, as it say more about IMDB (that they would carry a fact elsewhere disproved) than it does about Poesy. Does anyone else have an opinion, because i am tempted to be bold, but the only other person i've spoken to about this disagreed with me, so it would be good to come to some sort of consensus. Amo 20:48, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

I agree with taking it out. I don't think the IMDB is a reliable source, especially on contested issues. And I don't think the issue is important enough to cite them as a proponent of a particular POV. --Allen 00:57, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

.... a lot of this information was taken from the fansite french flower/flower of the court, and if karen hadn't added her link there would have been no credit at all. you shouldn't take information off of other sites without crediting them, it's not nice... Sisy

You're right; all information should be cited. But why did you remove my "citation needed" tags? Are those statements from the fan site? I can't check, because the fan site is down. --Allen 23:05, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

the stuff was on flower of the court, but when they got hacked they merged sites with french flower, then haters hacked that site so it's going to have to be readded. it's just really surprising how much info came off the fansites, that's all. almost all of it first appeared on flower of the court and it leaked everywhere else. what citation needed tag? did i delete it?

If you're Sisy, then I think you may have... see this edit. (the "fact" tag expands to "citation needed".) Sounds like it was an accident, though, so don't worry about it. --Allen 23:06, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Clemence fleur.jpg

Image:Clemence fleur.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Question

Her filmography is diffferent from nearly everyone elses. Shouldn't it go from earliest to latest? I don't know how to fix it though —Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.33.77.65 (talk) 00:36, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

GAP

Is the comment "Clémence is currently part of Gap's fall advertising campaign in which she wears a wool blazer" really defining enough that it should be featured in the top summary? Or is it maybe motivated by other purposes, i.e. GAP marketing? I would like to know what other people think. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.67.43.170 (talk) 07:41, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Gossip Girl

Clemence Poesy will appear in this series next season. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.125.198.106 (talk) 14:55, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

That cannot be added in the article unless we have reliable sources. --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 17:00, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Religion

Is Poesy Roman Catholic? --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 02:07, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

contact

the bestUSER- does anyone know how to conact this undiscriblely beutiful speciman I mean she's flaming hot and i just ca't live another day knowing she's out there I NEED U CLĖMENCE I WILL BE WAITING.

there are fanmail addresses at fansites which are listed in the "external links" section of the article.

Should we be indulging potential stalkers? Noneofyourbusiness 17:29, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
We should be encouraging them to channel thier interest into a more normal fan/actor interaction. Amo 18:07, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

All fansites worth anything leave contact addresses for their celebrity, but that's not to their home, only to their agency. .. Sisy

I agree with the above. The nonsense from the bestUSER is surely an abuse of everything Wikipedia stands for and i can't understand why it hasn't been removed. It's the sort of deluded vapouring usually found in fansites - not in something purporting to be an encyclopedia - even in the talk/discussion section. Birth date

She says in this interview that she is born in October 1982, however she does not mention the day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWhQt6rgMtY&feature=player_embedded#! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.38.217.56 (talk) 07:00, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

I used the video (Clémence Poésy : interview (in French). ElleadoreTV. Nov 29, 2010. Event occurs at 00:14. Retrieved November 29, 2011. Née la: Octobre 1982, A: L'Hay-les-Roses) as a reference for both her birth date and location. IMDb can never be used a reference for bio info as it is unreliable, as exemplified by this counter reference. Since Poesy released this info herself it meets the requirements of WP:BLPPRIVACY. Video also at http://www.elleadore.com/on-adore/cine/clemence-poesy.php --Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:45, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

I went through the history and noticed that the birth date info, using the above video interview as a reference, was correct as of March 17, 2011 but this valid reference was removed March 31, 2011 by Bigweeboy (talk · contribs) with edit summary "no YouTube refs please". Per WP:YOUTUBE "There is no blanket ban on linking to YouTube or other user-submitted video sites ..." As long as the link is not to a copyright violation, which this one isn't, it is fine if it meets all the other requirements as a reliable source. A video interview with the subject is a primary source and is reliable as per reporting what the subject said. Since WP:BLPPRIVACY needs some indication that the subject is OK with the release of this type of info, a video interview showing that meets that need. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:46, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

For unknown reasons this has been recently changed from 3rd October to;

The problem with the third source is that it quite clearly cites our Wikipedia article as a source, giving 18th July 2010 as the date. Our version of the article from that date gives her date of birth as 30th November, citing no source. Since there is no actual dispute among reliable sources about her date of birth, I am restoring the reliably sourced 3rd October. 2A02:C7D:3CBD:3100:AC43:24DF:3B46:99A1 (talk) 15:57, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

Where do you get the 3rd from? The video does not give a day, as pointed out above. I've removed it. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 02:49, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Languages?

Clémence Poésy is evidently fluent in French and English. Can she speak any other languages, such as German? Reify-tech (talk) 17:59, 15 February 2017 (UTC)

I see in the section "Personal life" that she knows a number of languages, though no reference is given for this claim. Reify-tech (talk) 18:44, 15 February 2017 (UTC)

Besides the source now cited, I just saw her in Little Tito and the Aliens. There she spoke English with an accent that wavered between a vague "neutral" US accent and a British accent. She also spoke very clear Mexico Spanish, and clumsy Italian. I don't think she had any occasion to speak French in the film. — Steve98052 (talk) 05:44, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
