Merge[edit]

I have merged the articles on Constantine of Dumnonia with Constantine III of Britain, which essentially repeated each other's sometimes innacurrate information. I have also moved them both to this title, since the only historical reference to the king doesn't call him "Constantine of Dumnonia, but "Damnonia", which is possibly a significant distinction. And not even Geoffrey of Monmouth calls his derivative figure "Constantine III of Britain". There may be a better title, but this is my suggestion.--Cúchullain t/c 20:00, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Will start soon. Hopefully later today, probably Friday. SpartaN (talk) 07:25, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Images are good, it's factually accurate and verifiable, definitely broad, represents different view points on the subject, and is stable. I do have a few prose suggestions:

  • "Cultus" - should be in italics, because it's Latin.
  • "A number of other traditions attested across Britain describe saints or kings name Constantine, suggesting a confusion and conflation of various figures." - does it mean to say the traditions "describing saints or kings named Constantine"?
  • "The church in Govan in present-day Scotland was also dedicated to a Saint Constantine." - should be "The church in Govan, a parish in present-day Scotland, was also dedicated to a Saint Constantine." Looks better than "..in Govan in.."

Good work. I thought I had work today and didn't. Plus, I happen to be familiar with Geoffrey and some of the other sources so that saved some time. The article was in pretty good shape, and I had to really nitpick here. There were a few places that word order looked odd, but I think it's just me. The prose will pass after you do the above. All taken care of, thanks SpartaN. Anything else that you see?--Cúchullain t/c 15:41, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good. Passing now. SpartaN (talk) 16:22, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey guys! : )[edit]

Yo!

What is up y'all? I thought my edit that was reverted as per this page added, as I specified some context to the point of confusion. I honestly thought it was self evidently helpful.

That said I have real problems with syntax, etc as I have severe Aspergers Syndrome *and* severe ADHD lol (oof!) and would love toget help with such with specific things I am doing at the time.

Ugh I realise I am struggling to make sense here...all that said, sufficed to say, I relly honestly thought my change was really helpful and didnt need specific referencing. But I guess, after all this time Im still learning the ropes ha!

Thanks for your time and I'll post this with a few tweaks to the docs page as well, a wee bit later on.

Thanks for your edit, which I reverted. As I wrote in my edit summary, you changed referenced text, and thus made the author say things which he or she did not say. You say that Gildas was born in the Clyde Valley, but this is rejected by most modern scholars. Dudley Miles (talk) 08:22, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"didnt need specific referencing" In Wikipedia, there is no such thing as not requiring a specific reference. If any aspect of an article can be challenged, it is going to be challenged. Anyway, I don't see how your medical condition is relevant to a content dispute. This is not your first major edit to an article, is it? Dimadick (talk) 14:37, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
