Photos

[edit]

Hopefully in the next week or so I will take some photos of the Cardiff red cycle routes. If you have any other requests please let me know on my Talk Page. Seth Whales (talk) 10:15, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Great. Maybe some examples of signage if it's on the way? Welshleprechaun (talk) 11:57, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have taken some photos, see Commons:Cycling in Cardiff, more to follow in the next few weeks. I plan to take a photo of the Taff Trail sign in Cardiff too. Seth Whales (talk) 10:20, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Good work Seth. Are you a cyclist by any chance? Welshleprechaun (talk) 13:35, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bias?

[edit]

Reading this article you would think Cardiff is a cycling nirvana, which it patently is not. In particular, the section on Council Policy should be worded differently, IMO, to reflect the fact that this is a published policy and not necessarily given any priority or translated effectively into reality. Probably the points of view of the local cycling campaigns needs to be augmented somewhat, to provide some balance. N.B. I added the para about the Cardiff Naked Bike Ride but didn't realise I wasn't logged in at the time, argh! Sionk (talk) 01:47, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Repetition and Irrelevant Sections

[edit]

There seems to be a lot of 'padding' in this article and information not specific to Cardiff. For example the list of benefits of cycling are universal. National Highway Code (e.g. illegal cycling on footpaths, generic signage) are not Cardiff specific.

National Rail Network policy is of minor relevance to Cardiff. It is a large chunk of the article, totally disproportionate. The previous paragraph about Arriva Trains specific policy should suffice, considering they run the services in Cardiff and the immediate area.

The large sections of the article on 'Segregated/off road cycle paths' and 'Cycling Routes' are largely repeats, in the main describing the same routes. They could be easily be combined. After all, I expect the former is rehashed entirely from the Council issued Cycle Map and there is already plenty of information here re-hashed from Council policy documents.Sionk (talk) 12:37, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

List of cycle routes in Cardiff

[edit]

Would it be worth creating a new article specifically for cycle routes in Cardiff? This section of the article is getting quite large, and the article as a whole is near a point where separating into 2 articles is worth considering. Bibeyjj (talk) 14:16, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
