Non-standard use of katakana as a pronunciation guide

[edit]

Ryulong's edit here re-added the katakana rendering (ダンスロイド) of the group's name to the lead, implying that this is how it is officially stylized. A brief look at the four official sites listed in the "External links" section, as well as the four members' official blogs, shows that the group's name is normally written as "DANCEROID" in Japanese - and not as "ダンスロイド". As has been extensively argued in the past at WikiProject Japan, using katakana as an "aid" to pronunciation like this when it is not used in Japanese is considered non-standard, and there is no precedent or consensus for continuing to use it in English Wikipedia articles. --DAJF (talk) 01:28, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
