[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Excel Dashboard.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?
Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

Potential addition for History

[edit]

Greetings! Here with a request to update History to note the expansion to mobile dashboards in recent years. I'm proposing to add the following to the end of the section:

Proposed addition for History
In the 2010s, the move to mobile dashboards extended the boundaries of where users could access business dashboards as well as offering new ways to capture and include location information.[1]

Here is markup for the addition:

I am here on behalf of MicroStrategy; the reference included above is a book by the company's CEO, so I have a financial conflict of interest and I will not edit this article directly. Can other editors assist in posting this edit? Happy to answer any questions if need be. Thanks, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 18:45, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Authority

[edit]

Where is the authority for this definition? Or is this another case of someone using Wikipedia to create an authoritive definition? The term dashboard is used for other things too. Sam Tomato (talk) 19:57, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Which definition? Also the fact that the term is used for other things doesn't matter, that's why we have WP:DISAMBIGUATION in the names. There's only one meaning (this one) which I can think of as covered by this combination of terms. Andy Dingley (talk) 23:57, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification on benefits vs features

[edit]

The benefits area changes from business benefits, to dashboard characteristics, ie what dashboards do vs how they help.

can we discuss the actual benefits? 122.106.100.12 (talk) 04:28, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Section on use as a Web Mapping Application

[edit]

Dashboards are one of the most popular formats for Web Map Services in Web GIS and Web mapping. This could be reflected in this article with a section. Additionally, the use during the COVID-19 pandemic is probably noteworthy enough to expand into a section as well. GeogSage (⚔Chat?⚔) 20:27, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
