What games are synchronous and what aren't?

Actually what games are synchronous and what are asychronous? I played Quake & Quake2 for long time, was always HPB and never blamed because of being HPB.

Half-life and co

I've been playing half-life and many of its mods (including beta cs, tfc, ns, sven-co, etc) and I have seen these terms pass by. Not frequently of course, but people use them.

"Gaming" section

The "Gaming" section presented almost no information which is not mentioned somewhere else in the article, and despite its title it did not actually mention gaming. I have removed it.
