Broken reference
the hyperlink for the reference "Tempus" is missing, that is the reference was not defined in the article. Jeroje (talk) 08:04, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- The ref tag <ref name="Tempus"/> was added during a 18 October 2008 edit by 168.28.128.78. 75.69.0.58 (talk) 22:32, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- I've been thinking it may refer to:
- Claire Wilcox (3 September 2007). The Golden Age of Couture: Paris and London 1947 - 1957. V & A Publications. ISBN 185177520X..
- Does anybody know what was supposed to be the content of this reference? Alternatively, if somebody has an another good reference, we could substitute it for the broken one. Debresser (talk) 13:40, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Unsourced, redundant statements in the "History: New Look" section
Under the heading "History: New Look", paragraphs 4 and 5 read as follows:
"The 'New Look' of Christian Dior was an international success in the late 1940s. His designs were an up to date elegant look, which no one had seen before. He wanted to make women as graceful and ladylike as possible showing women's figures. He brought femininity to an extreme, which completely overthrew the fashion from the 1920s and 1930s. After the launch of his collection, Christian Dior became one of the most famous people in the world of fashion. The most important part was that they could be worn successfully by women with all body shapes. Dior has never lost the elegant look, even after Christian Dior died, the brand kept on the idea of the elegance and high end looks. It always brought out women's beauty and showed it to the whole world with wearing the designs. One of the most important part of his designs is that it is fully showing women's body curves to make it as feminine as possible, and no matter what kind of body shape it is, it can always fit into his designed curves perfectly."
First, much of this is redundant from what is stated elsewhere in the article. Second, no sources are provided for any of it. Third, much of it is nonsensical, or simply incorrect, such as the claim that "(Dior's "new look") could be worn successfully by women with all body shapes...and no matter what kind of body shape it is, it can always fit into his designed curves perfectly", which is the opposite of reality, since Dior's silhouette relied upon the "wasp waist" -- hardly something achievable by a woman with a "matronly" figure (or larger). The author goes on to say "...the brand kept on the idea of the elegance and high end looks"..."and showed it to the whole world with wearing the designs". What does this even mean? What is "the idea of...high end looks"? "High end" isn't a look, it's a price-point or exclusivity, or other characteristics, but there is nothing visually identifiable about a "look" which makes it "high end". And what to make of "...and showed it to the whole world with wearing the designs"? Of "the whole world", a rather small percentage of people would ever have seen Christian Dior's fashions (most of Africa, most of Asia, and most of South America would've been oblivious to it). "...With wearing the designs"? For the life of me, I can't understand what is meant here. IMO, the article would only be improved by having those two final paragraphs removed. Any objections? Bricology (talk) 08:40, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
Poor quality
The overall quality of the article is rather low. A large part of it is dedicated to rather irrelevant criticism; for example, some local criticism in India is given an entire heading and section. It would seem as if some users (no doubt well-intentioned) think that every minor criticism deserves full coverage. That thinking violates WP:DUE. If a controversy receives wide media coverage, such as the Galliano controversy, it probably is due. If there's only minor media coverage, then most likely it is not due for what is a global and major company. Unless there are any objections, I'll do a major clean-up. I'll leave it for a few days if there are comments. Jeppiz (talk) 21:43, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
Criticism section
The criticism section contained both well-sourced and relevant controversies, but also some that seemed very minor and not reported in any source meeting WP:RS. For Dior, as for any other company, we should certainly report on major controversies (such as the Galliano controversy for Dior) but not every single piece of news, as per both WP:NOTNEWS and WP:DUE. This is especially true for poorly sourced material. Jeppiz (talk) 10:54, 17 October 2019 (UTC)
