Requested move 13 April 2024[edit]

– The franchise article should be kept at Dora the Explorer. The series article should be the one having disambiguation. 𝓥𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓻𝓲𝓪𝓷24𝓑𝓲𝓸 (ᴛᴀʟᴋ) 06:00, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I also added the Character because, with the new series now she's commonly known as just "Dora" rather than "Dora the Explorer". 𝓥𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓻𝓲𝓪𝓷24𝓑𝓲𝓸 (ᴛᴀʟᴋ) 02:56, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose for now. This needs a systematic discussion on the naming convention consensus on the articles of the main series/movie and the overall franchise. Cfls (talk) 21:20, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, for a number of reasons. First, the series (and the franchise media generally) is centered on a character, and there is indeed a Dora the Explorer (character) article, which could conceivably be the primary topic of the term. Second, the original TV series is now just one of many instances of media centered on the character. BD2412 T 15:34, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support The franchise has superseded the TV series in terms of notability. InfiniteNexus (talk) 19:20, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, since it was a television show first. Why should it be the franchise that should get more notability? There needs to be some changes in the articles if so, if the page for the overall franchise has far more detail. BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 05:22, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    Which came first doesn't decide notability. 𝓥𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓻𝓲𝓪𝓷24𝓑𝓲𝓸 (ᴛᴀʟᴋ) 05:41, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore, someone searching Dora the Explorer could be looking for the character, series, books, video games or soundtrack. It could be all directed from the franchise article, but a series ended 10 years ago won't have that kind of notability. 𝓥𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓻𝓲𝓪𝓷24𝓑𝓲𝓸 (ᴛᴀʟᴋ) 05:48, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
