"Prince Sehzade"

[edit]

Isn't that redundant? It's like saying "Emperor Tsar Nicholas". --iFaqeer (talk) 08:27, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am aware of this fact but I also preferred to follow previous formats for previous Şehzades. Plus, Şehzade is a less known title than Tsar so I think it's okay. --Osmanović (talk) 00:29, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Children

[edit]

The Sultan has no children? 71.239.255.38 (talk) 21:20, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I would also like to know this. --Huss4in (talk) 16:57, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, he does not. --Osmanović (talk) 00:41, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New York Times reports death

[edit]

Times reports his death: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/24/nyregion/24osman.html

This article talks about him using a homemade Ottoman passport until 2001, I think it's an interesting detail. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/26/realestate/26habi.html

WIkipedia Manual of Style and use of titles and styles

[edit]

Could the unregistered editors who keep added "His Imperial Highness", "Effendi" and other titles and styles please readWP:Manual_of_Style_(biographies)#Honorific_prefixes. It is stated quite clearly that we should not use such terminology except when discussing specifically how Osman could be addressed.--Peter cohen (talk) 15:41, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Sultan of the Ottoman Empire"

[edit]

These "succession" lines look ridiculous. Where do they claim this title? Beshogur (talk) 23:24, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
