Change page name from A-Level to A Level.

[edit]

Based on the more authoritative sources in this article (government websites, exam boards, etc.), the term 'A Level' should not be hyphenated. I have tried to move the page myself but have been unsuccessful, can anyone help me with this? PentagonPizza (talk) 16:49, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A-LevelA level – Removing the hyphen per common usage and moving to sentence case.

The spelling with no hyphen and a lowercase "L" is used by dictionary.com, the Cambridge Dictionary, Merriam Webster, the Collins English Dictionary, the Macmillan Dictionary, and the Britannica Dictionary. The spelling with the hyphen and a lowercase "L" is used only by the The Oxford English Dictionary). :3 F4U (they/it) 19:12, 13 May 2023 (UTC)— Relisting. >>> Extorc.talk 18:15, 19 May 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. CLYDE TALK TO ME/STUFF DONE (please mention me on reply) 23:09, 26 May 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. EggRoll97 (talk) 23:57, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

TYPO or small mistake in the Nepal sub-section

[edit]

The last sentence in the A-level#Nepal sub-section begins with

In Nepali, students generally appear [...]

which is not correct. As shown by the quote

"People who live in Nepal, we call them Nepali,"

from https://www.sbs.com.au/language/nepali/en/article/youve-been-getting-our-name-wrong-says-nepals-foreign-minister/pp6bznae5 (Disclosure: that quote -- and that web page -- were both found via the S.R.P. ["search results page"] https://www.google.com/search?q=%2BNepali%2C+Nepal under "People also ask:" / "What do you call a person from Nepal?"), it is clear that either [a] the final letter of the word "Nepali" should be deleted, or else [b] the first word ("In") of that sentence, and the first comma of that sentence, should both be deleted.

I do not care which solution is chosen, but clearly the current version is not correct.

Any comments? Mike Schwartz (talk) 04:58, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed it. I chose solution [b].
