Creation[edit]

I am the author of the book that is the subject of the article, a book to be published in four days by the New York publisher PublicAffairs. As the author I am in the best position to present a straightforward encyclopedia article on the book, which has been described (by Publishers Weekly) as "an essential account of America's 'forgotten war'."
