Death?

[edit]

In 2014, it was reported that this person had passed away [1], as a note in the obituary of another teammate. Sam Vimes 17:20, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sam, good find. I was the one who added the 98th birthday report to the article but on closer inspection it does look like they've assumed him to be alive rather than bothered to do journalistic research. I've just emailed the Fiji Sports Hall of Fame, of which Bula is a member. If I don't hear back within a week, I would suggest we remove the 98th birthday source as it directly conflicts with the one above, and then move him back into the Possibly living category. What do you think? Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 21:21, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Jkaharper:. Good course of action, thanks for contacting them. Sam Vimes 10:55, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Jkaharper: @Sam Vimes: Oddly, this page lists him as dying in 2002. Unfortunately it is uncited, but it might be a clue. Canadian Paul 02:33, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi both (@Canadian Paul:, @Sam Vimes:), thought I would revisit this, and I came across an additional source – a report of the Fiji Sports Hall of Fame in 2005, when they inducted him. There are now two reputable sources that note he is deceased. I've included both in the Personal life section. CP, I've taken personal note of 2002 being a likely year of death. I'll keep a look out for a source which verifies this. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 16:30, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
