Inclusion of Finland[edit]

What was the reason for the inclusion of Finland, which was not an Eastern Bloc country? Pimlottc 13:55, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Finland was, according to article, member of International Radio and Television Organisation. Otherwise, Finland has also participated in all this time at Eurovision Song Contest although the majority of countries there were part of the Western bloc (with a few exceptions: Sweden, Malta, Cyprus, Yugoslavia, Morocco) where Finland was not part but was member of European Broadcasting Union. Another reason might be that the Finnish songs at Eurovision Song Contest has had very poor results (they have won only in 2006 year although they competing from the fifties) and they're increased their chances (they have won the last Intervision Song Contest)? In addition, Finland has tried to keep a neutral policy towards the two superpowers, so even today is not a member of NATO and has close relations with neighboring Russia (with whom has a long history of political, cultural and economic relations). I believe that all those things affect the decision of their public television? I know that late with the answer, but better late than never (: . Inactivity[edit]

As I browsed this article, I was struck by how ugly the grey participation table looked. I am aware of the fact that the colour grey is intended to show that all the countries are inactive, but it is redundant it is when the entire article is about a currently defunct contest, and only serves to make the article less readable. A music competition based on the international meeting "Intervision". The organization itself met in 1960 as part of the International Broadcasting and Television Organization. The intervision of nature is mainly in the public community. The permanent bodies of Intervision - the Intervision Council, the Coordinating Technical Center, the Center for Software Discovery - were located in Prague. Initially, Intervision included the USSR, East Germany, Poland, Hungary, and Czechoslovakia. Independent individuals were also assessed Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia. These countries have been in the zone of special attention of television programs and broadcasts since 1962. Since April 1963 Bulgaria and Romania have become the Intervisions. Later, Lithuania, Belarus, Moldova, Cuba, Mongolia, Finland, Vietnam, Afghanistan got into Intervision. In work Interview views of TV organizations of Yugoslavia. Every year in the Polish city of Sopot, a song contest was held, which in 1977 received the official name "Intervision". In 1983, Intervision organized and held a competition in seven cities, including Tampere, Moscow, Warsaw, Sofia, and Prague. The Polish performer Zbigniew Wodetsky won the Grand Prix with the song “I love to go back to where I have already been” (Lubie wracac tam gdzie bylem)[4][5], among the winners is Marina Florea (rum)rus. (Romania), Margarita Goranova (Bulgaria), Karel Chernokh (Czechoslovakia). When the song contest was held in Poland in 1984, it again became known as the musical venue in Sopot[6].

Intervision is widespread with the home of the decaying socialist camp[7]. Since then, the idea to revive the competition arose. In particular, an initiative was put forward to revive the competition within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization[8].

"Five stars. Intervision"

In 2008, the Red Square company, together with the first channel, proposed to revive the competition in Sochi[2]. The idea to give the All-Russian competition of young performers "Five Stars" an international status has been floating around the sea for a long time. 1965 is the original Intervision[edit]

Dr. Dean Vuletic seems to be the most prominent researcher on Intervision, and his work says that intervision started in '65 based on documents from the time. It's discussed in his book Postwar Europe and the Eurovision Song Contest. He says the idea that Intervision started in '77 at Sopot is a myth.
