[edit]

Why has this page been locked? Skittlesrgood4u (talk) 02:30, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's only locked for new accounts. I'm guessing it's somehow related to all of the vandalism the article has gotten recently. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 02:46, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, vandalism has been known to upset a lot of people

Spy Concept

[edit]

Is the statment about the show having them as spys true? I have not read that any where else.--T.b.77b (talk) 01:51, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In the August issue of J-14 Chelsea Staub still mentioned the spy concept. I haven't heard about the plot changing like the article suggests. Cicatriz 04:49, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

The Jonas Brothers said they changed the plot into some kind of HBO's Flight of the Concords. I read it somewhere but really didn't read the url.

I'm kinda glad they're not spies. I think having their last name changed is bad enough. 76.20.233.39 (talk) 22:09, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suitable Content?

[edit]

I really don't think this section is suitable for this page: "However, in this show they are actually midgets on stilts by day, pop-teen princesses by night. There is some controversy as to whether or not they actually should be in their own show. Other people from the disney channel are looking forward to seeing them have their own show , so they can all go to hell together." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.128.62.191 (talk) 08:49, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Um, "pop-teen PRINCESSES"? "go to hell together"? "Midgets on stilts"? Who in the world wrote this article?! Not that i like the Jo Bros, as you can see from the article, Down W/ JB —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.20.233.39 (talk) 22:20, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

JONAS last names

[edit]

There has been close to an edit war over the last names of the characters Joe, Kevin, Nick, and their family. To clear this up: the characters' last name is "Lucas!"

Because Kevin, Nick, and Joe play members of a popular rock band just like the Jonas Brothers in real life, the last name of the characters was changed from Jonas to Lucas to keep viewers from mistaking the show for a documentary or a reality show. The Jonas Brothers just play characters who happen to have the same names. The characters are based on the Jonas Brothers, but they are not supposed to actually be the same people. (If you think this is confusing, try reading about J.O.N.A.S! in the development section! XD)

But to make that simpler:

  • In real life, the real Kevin Jonas, Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas play in a band called the Jonas Brothers.
  • On the television show, the fictional Kevin Lucas, Nick Lucas, and Joe Lucas play in a band called JONAS.

They are NOT the same people and do NOT have the same last name.

to make that even simpler: If you didn't understand the last section, simply don't change the names! Rest assured, the characters' last name is supposed to be "Lucas". Thanks, Liquidluck (talk) 01:32, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OMG I JOE IS SO AWEZUM!! :D

[edit]

Personally I think that Joe is the funniest character of the series and that the series is WAY better than Sonny With a Change! But the page still needs a little bit of editing though. Someone should add maybe photos or talk about the episodes or something.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.28.58.245 (talk) 13:39, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please add new comments to the end of the discussions, and restrict them to suggestions on improving the page, not discussing the content. That said, please be WP:BOLD and make relevant edits yourself :]. I think talking about the episode would be better suited for List of JONAS episodes, though, so feel free to add information there. Liquidluck (talk) 02:04, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Can someone please put the List of JONAS Episodes link on the page? It used to be on there but it got removed i guess. Thanks. Kgreg10 (talk) 15:11, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Kgreg10[reply]
There is a link in the infobox and the Jonas Brothers template at the bottom, but I'll see if I can find more spots to put the link. Please be WP:BOLD and add/fix anything you would like! Liquidluck (talk) 05:28, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kevin is funnier than Joe in this series and Sonny With a Chance is WAY better. But JONAS isnt bad at all.

As a friendly reminder, try to make sure your comments on the talk page are about the article, not the show. Liquidluck (talk) 05:28, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Character personalities?

[edit]

Shouldn't we write at least a little bit on the character's personalities? We all know that these guys act nothing like they do in real life (especially Kevin), so some note should be made about their personalities. Mokoniki (talk) 22:02, 18 June 2009 (UTC)Mokoniki[reply]

I agree, please add bios for each character, you or anyone who wants to. They weren't added when most of the other information was because not many episodes had been aired at the time. I think enough have now aired that viewers have a reasonable idea of their characters. Liquidluck (talk) 05:39, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ya, I tottaly agree! Evekinz910 (talk) 18:13, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

criticizing?

[edit]

Dosn't anyone think that some critics thought this show was to cash in on other disney shows about singers like Hannah Montanna? I bet they thought if HM was succesful, then a Jonas show would be too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.233.100.129 (talk) 15:52, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's the idea I got while reading the critical reviews. But you can't really blame them; the situation is almost identical to Hannah Montana, and the original idea (J.O.N.A.S.) almost more so. It seemed like they expected even more from JONAS because the Jonas Brothers were already majorly promoted by Disney, and Miley was an unknown when Hannah started.Liquidluck (talk) 05:44, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Who ever wrote this article on the tv show JONAS wrote some rude things. This article must be fixed with true information and not someone's rude opinions.

If you are talking about the critical reviews, we must abide by WP:NPOV and keep negative and positive points of view. If you are talking about edits made between June 19-21, definitely- there was a lot of vandalism this weekend, for some reason. I think I undid all the vandalism, but if there is any left please fix it. Thanks, Liquidluck (talk) 05:44, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Its Jonas, not Lucas

[edit]

You guys need to watch out. Someone keeps changing the characters names from Jonas to Lucas. Look for everything and change it back. The last names of the boys in the show is Jonas as well as real life. Pirakafreak24 ( Leave a Message ) I can sing! Ha!. 22:05, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Their last names are not Jonas. They play the Lucas brothers who are in a band called JONAS, the name of the show. Check Disney's Official website for JONAS and you'll see they call them the Lucas Brothers. You can even see in the quiz they're called Kevin, Joe, and Nick Lucas. ShuffleStop (talk) 22:15, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
ShuffleStop is correct, their last names are Lucas; see explanation here: Talk:JONAS_(TV_series)#JONAS_last_names. But your warning was in good faith, so thank you. Liquidluck (talk) 22:18, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

JONAS (TV series)Jonas (TV series)

As per WP:CAPS - Megata Sanshiro (talk) 09:23, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nom, unless it is an abbreviation. NES Wii (talk) 16:14, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, unless I'm misinterpreting WP:CAPS. The show's official title is actually JONAS, caps included, so I believe the article title should be kept as such. Here's an abbreviated portion of the conception section explaining:

The potential TV series was entitled J.O.N.A.S., an acronym which stood for "Junior Operatives Networking As Spies". In the show, the band played concerts as a cover while working as government secret agents to save the world.[1] [...] "The Jonas Brothers became too popular to imagine them as anything but more dramatic versions of themselves," explained executive producer Michael Curtis.[2]. [...] “It is now about us being a band and balancing a normal life,” Nick Jonas told Access Hollywood.[3] The title of the series changed from J.O.N.A.S. to JONAS, dropping the acronym but remaining in all capitals.[4]

Let me know if WP:CAPS applies in this case. Liquidluck (talk) 18:59, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Support In light of what Sarilox wrote below, I change to support. I didn't believe WP:CAPS was applicable, but I wasn't aware of Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks) at the time- and trademarks definitely does cover it.
  • Support The name Jonas existed first, and was used to create the backronym J.O.N.A.S. and the spy concept around that title. However, that concept and its associated backronym were abandoned early in production in favor of just capitalizing their name as JONAS for the title of the show. Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks) seems clear in demonstrating that capitalized trademarks should be written using standard capitalization rules, unless it is an acronym or if the letters are pronounced individually. As the article states, this shows title is not an acronym. If this proposal is successful then the List of JONAS episodes will also need to be renamed and moved. Sarilox (talk) 14:49, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Move back to Jonas (TV series)?

[edit]

The title "Jonas" covers Jonas LA, but Jonas LA doesn't cover Jonas. This makes reading the article confusing for readers without prior knowledge of the series. Also, according to the NY Post Jonas LA is only the title for this season, not the series as a whole. Are there any objections to moving the article back to its original title? liquidlucktalk 01:06, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sitcom?

[edit]

OK, so you all know that season 1 is a comedy, as season 2 is more of a comedy-drama. If it is a dramady, then why does it say under format "Teen Sitcom"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.84.68.32 (talk) 21:16, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reruns of season 1

[edit]

Why doesn't Disney Channel reshow the season one episodes? Arilicious (talk) 20:55, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Of cause i believe you are talking about the American version, where i'm guessing that seeming Jonas and Jonas L.A. are technically different shows, they've stoped showing Jonas simply because the show has finished. Quite like how Suite Life of Zack and Cody, That's So Raven, Lizzie McGuire etc. etc. are hardely shown anymore.--77.99.231.37 (talk) 19:11, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cancelled

[edit]

The show was listed as "cancelled," as the last episode being October 3, 2010. I changed that back to "Airing," since there's no mention of such on Google News (nor on the show itself.) My wife thought it was cancelled--the episode definitely resolved the show, had them all going in different directions and hooked up with their girls, but no one's said the show's over yet. Can someone give us a link?--Mrcolj (talk) 04:36, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Now, a week later, it's been changed to "on hiatus." I have no opinion about its status--I reflexively believe it's probably unofficially cancelled/getting a reboot--but we need a source. It could just be the kind of show that, like Chuck, resolves itself to the extreme every season...--Mrcolj (talk) 15:59, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

People! the show has been cancelled for months now, ii think it's safe to assume the show's fate

Move back to Jonas (TV series)

[edit]

I think that the page should be listed as Jonas (TV series) because the original name should be used. Its like Hannah Montana Forever and Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors.

We can wait and check what other users think about the matter. And in the case of changing, it will be JONAS (TV series)—in upper case— since that's the actual show name. I think the article was changed simply to not confuse the readers. Artmanha (talk) 01:44, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Its Jonas JONAS is a stylize name its like calling Kesha's Tik Tok TiK ToK. CHall2002 (talk) 04:20, 12 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No, it isn't. It is JONAS because the show was previously called J.O.N.A.S. on an unbought pilot and then they changed it to JONAS on this version we know. Also to prevent misinformations regarding the band's name. If you check on iTunes—here— you'll see what I'm talking about. Artmanha (talk) 15:52, 12 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP doesn't do all caps see here. CHall2002 (talk) 02:31, 13 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If it was only JONAS, then the article would be named Jonas, but it is JONAS (TV series), so I think it's fine. Artmanha (talk) 02:50, 13 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think its fine as Jonas (TV series) or Jonas L.A. CHall2002 (talk) 01:23, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
My point is that, as it is JONAS (TV series), not simply JONAS then it's fine for Wikipedia's standards. In other words, all caps, does not apply in this case. - Artmanha (talk) 01:32, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
