Places need to visit

[edit]

Janakur word comes from the name of King Janak. In ancient time the name of janakpur was Mithila. Later it was changed on the name of King "Janak". From their it became Janak + pur (the word "pur" means "Religious Place" ). So the word itself describe that Janakpur is the religious place where lots of ancient temples and other remarks are available. When any tourist will arrive in Janakpur below are the few places where they can visit and get more details about Janakpur.

  • Temple of Janki - which was butil by Queen from TikamGadh (TikamGadh is located in India).
  • Temple of Ram - Which is situated near Janak Chowk. God Ram is the bride of Godess Janki (The otehr name of godess Janki is Sita).
  • Temple of God Rajdevi- God Rajdevi temple is situated between Janak Chowk and Ram Chowk.
  • 12 Acker land- This was the land when God Ram and Goddess Sita got married there were lots of acitivies happened during ancient time. Even now ever year when *

people are memorizing their wedding day still there are lots of fuction are happining.

  • Marba - The wedding house- This is the house where God Ram and Goddess Janki got married.

Marked for changes:

[edit]

This page needs to be reworked to remove the advertising and confusing wording inherent in it. An example would be the "Climate and Geology" section which talks about festivals for tourists, promoting them as the best in Nepal and India. Also, there are advertisements for free lodging. The article should therefore be rewritten in a more neutral point of view to provide a better look at Janakpurdham, instead of just tourist information.

Note: Though this city is important to the Hindu religion (it is important as a destination), the article itself contains few facts outside of festivals and free lodging for tourists.

Cleaned Up Page. Removed { advert } tag

[edit]

I've tried cleaning up the article by removing most of the advertising-like statements. I've also removed the {advert} tag. If someone thinks that if there's anymore advertising-like material, please point it out and flag it. Kumar.kisalaya (talk) 18:35, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

barah bigha

[edit]

It is established on 12 acres of land which is an open place with historical and cultral importance situated in the heart of Janakpur dham.It has it's nomenclature based on the geography. Though it is not properly looked after to restore its ancient values but recently a forum of local youths' loose forum, JYDF, has taken the charge of preserving and establishing its religious values and promote it as a hub of tourism beside Janaki temple, Bibah mandap and so on. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.244.182.156 (talk) 17:58, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 17 January 2022

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: not moved. When arguments not based in policy (e.g. appeals to the official name) and canvassed !votes are discounted, it becomes clear that there's a consensus that the current title is the common name. JanakpurJanakpurdham – Janakpur has officially been renamed as Janakpurdham. This is printed in Nepal Gazzate which makes the name official.[1] It's been so long that this name has not been endorsed by Wikipedia.[2][3] I request all of you to add your perception here.
