John Fitchett (footballer)Jack Fitchett – This was the name that he was known by wherever he played. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 08:07, 18 February 2013 (UTC) Support. No complaints from me. Every source I have refers to him as Jack. Argyle 4 Lifetalk 12:10, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article expansion

[edit]

Concerning his statistics, it looks like his appearances in the Western League for Argyle have been left out. Would you be happy to have them included? I've always done so when it comes to a player who appeared in both. It was very much secondary to the Southern League but still a first-team competition at the time. Our first-team played in both. Argyle 4 Lifetalk 12:10, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I left the Western League stats out for consistency as the Southampton bios treat this as a subsidiary competition and exclude them. I still have work to do on this article, to include his post-football career and add the references. I will include a footnote explaining the situation. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 12:43, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. A mention of him here led mehere and here. Not a bad friend to have. Argyle 4 Lifetalk 14:33, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
An interesting guy - can't imagine many of today's players going onto the stage and run a theatre. Incidentally, your last 2 links seem to be the same. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 14:40, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So they do. I meant to include this. The Palace Theatre is a glorious building that has been left to rot (Plymouth City Council prefers eye-sores with no architectural merit). If Jack was alive now he'd be apoplectic at the state that it's in. Argyle 4 Lifetalk 16:16, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes - it looks magnificent from this video. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 16:32, 18 February 2013 (UTC) p.s. annoying soundtrack![reply]
Perhaps it should have its own Wikipedia article. article would make a great starting point. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 16:36, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
