Article title

[edit]

Is there some reason we are not using the English name for the article title? This is the English Wikipedia. -- Stbalbach 16:46, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No reason that I'm aware of. The article existed long before I saw it. Thanks for moving it. --Kyoko 17:12, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject class rating

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as stub, and the rating on other projects was brought up to Stub class. BetacommandBot 04:12, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plot

[edit]

The previous plot summary has been removed because it appeared to be a straight lift from copyright material, which is clearly unacceptable (as well as lazy). But it is an important work which is referenced in discussions about the Enlightenment, the development of philosophical thought, and so on. I came to this page because I was reading JS Curl's The Victorian Celebration of Death where the description of Julie's garden in the novel is said to have influenced the design of the garden at Ermenonville where Rousseau was buried. As it stands, the article confirms that the novel was influential, but leaves me to guess what it might have been about. Telling me to read the novel isn't helpful; given that the article has been rated as mid-importance and has now been reduced to a mere stub I hope that somebody with a knowledge of the novel will set to and correct the omission. The reference to the English translation (link to www.archive.org) is trying to do four volumes of what is sometimes three volumes. Volume 1 and 2 have a disconnect with about 10 missing letters of the story. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Endgame0 (talkcontribs) 11:14, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, this article sorely needs a plot section. 71.216.250.182 (talk) 23:50, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
