Undiscussed move to Syed Noor Mohammad Shah Maina

[edit]

An editor moved the page Karte Naw to the title Syed Noor Mohammad Shah Maina with no discussion. I've tried googling up the latter title, and find zero information on it, while there are a number of journalistic pieces referring specifically to the "Karte Naw" neighborhood of Kabul. Accordingly, I've moved it back to "Karte Naw"; please provide a reason if you believe a move is still needed. MatthewVanitas (talk) 17:39, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It depends on how we type it in google - sayed nor mohammad shah mina. Afghan Post even has a postal code for that neighborhood. (Ketabtoon (talk) 19:37, 9 August 2011 (UTC))[reply]
Okay, appears the Af.gov spelling is "Sayed Noor Mohammad Shah Mina", so if we do move it (still discussing it at this point) I suggest we use the Af.gov spelling. Most of your Google hits are unrelated though, so I'll have to dig through them a bit to see which apply to the neighborhood, though a Google search for the Af.gov spelling appears to have some promising links about development in that area. We do need to have some explanation though, of when/how the name was changed, and some reflecting of what the character of the area was under its old name, just to be clear in the article that it is indeed the same place. The following site (which is not loading at the time I am writing this post), provides some information about the history behind the neighborhood's name - well, it only mentions who the personality was. The following residential complex is also located in the same neighborhood and they use Sayyed Noor Muhammad Shah Mina along with several other sites if you google that name and play around with the spellings. I took some time to make you a map of the area :). (Ketabtoon (talk) 05:10, 13 August 2011 (UTC))[reply]
