Proposed deletion

[edit]

why is der a proposal for deletion? Prasoonpradeep (talk) 08:06, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please the notability guidelines: WP:N and WP:ORG. An article like this needs a reliable source that has written something significant about an organization. Johnuniq (talk) 08:14, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How do I do that? add references?Prasoonpradeep (talk) 08:21, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. There is no need to format them if you don't want, just include an accurate description of the reference (title, author, publisher, page number), or a link to some site. Ideally, you would include some fact from the reference in the article, with the reference after the fact. There are a lot of details that you can ignore for now at WP:CITE. Johnuniq (talk) 08:27, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can you tell me how to do this? or maybe show an example?Prasoonpradeep (talk) 08:36, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

At the bottom of the article, you can click the "Categories" to see similar articles. For example Category:Kendriya Vidyalaya which includes several links, including Kendriya Vidyalaya Malleswaram. That article is very weak and is not a good example of how this article should be fixed, but it gives an idea. Try the other links to try and find a school with a "References" section. Note that current requirements for what is an acceptable article are more strict than they were at the time some of the older articles were created.
Has any media outlet written something about the school? Ideally, it would be in English, but any language is fine. If you post a link here, I might be able to make a suggestion for how to use it if you don't want to do that yourself.
Please see WP:TALK for how to indent your replies: put a colon (':') at the beginning of the reply to indent once; two colons for twice, etc. Put a space before the four tildes for your signature. Johnuniq (talk) 02:30, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I have removed a significant amount of text from the article because it had been copied from pages at http://www.kvmalappuram.gov.in/ (material on websites is assumed to be copyrighted, and cannot be used here unless certain procedures for donating the material are followed). However, the material also needed to be removed because it is not appropriate for an encyclopedic article here as it conflicted with policies such as neutral point of view. File:Kendriya Vidyalaya LOGOani.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Kendriya Vidyalaya LOGOani.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request
