How much detail to include for minor "characters"

[edit]

I deleted what I believe were extraneous details listed under Psycho Mike (which included the random grunts that he makes when an object of his desire is mentioned) and I also removed a reference to a fired short-term intern from the section about former cast members. My thinking is that this page needs to encompass the show in a more general, universal sense and could not possibly report every detail that occurs in a show that airs more than 20 hours of material a week. In that vein, I also deleted a reference to a specific date under Dieu To. If dates are added for every comment on this page, it will soon be a mess.--<---you're an idiot, what makes you think you can edit whatever you want?[9.26.09] 68.127.39.116 04:33, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Psycho Mike has clearly become a significant presence in the show, given his high profile song parodies and numerous appearances. His voice can be heard throughout the show, so I've added him into the list.198.172.206.213 08:56, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is Psycho Mike actually an "assistant producer"? I thought the "assistant producer" is Alex. I don't know her last name.205.212.72.182 09:34, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Psycho Mike is the "technical behind the scenes guy" in the studio (several people are called "assistant producers"). He makes sure Bean stays connected among other things. As he just appeared on "Live with Regis and Kelly" as a guest host for their week of "Men of Radio" and his appearance and was mentioned in the Daily Mail (and picked up by the Time of India) because of the degree to how much Brook Sheilds and Kelly Rippa flirted with him, taking him off the list would seem like a bad call.

Things that need to be added (?)

[edit]
  • I separated Dieu To and Sam into a separate section. I suspect other "personalities" should be included, but I don't know their names. Specifically, I was thinking the woman who keeps predicting the End of Days, and the couple in North Dakota who channel John Lennon, et al. If anybody else agrees, and is qualified to do the write up, please do.--68.127.39.116 04:33, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Is the intention to keep a running list of current characters? Or do we want to include significant past themes and characters from the show? In other words, is this a description of the show as it is today, and as characters and themes disappear, should they be removed? I assume not... and then we run into the problem that this article is not nearly complete because of the number of past themes that are not represented. The obvious problem is that it goes into such detail about the program which (by nature) is ever evolving. I really enjoyed reading this article, being a long-time listener of Kevin & Bean since high school, but the job of this page could also be done by a fan site which chronicles the show more deeply.205.212.73.142 19:35, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • History section should include mention of Kevin & Bean's pre-KROQ jobs in Arizona, etc.

Incorrect info

[edit]

There is a ton of incorrect info in this article. Running gags and jokes from the show are listed as facts. Nothing is referenced. This needs major cleanup.Portcho (talk) 01:06, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

'Cinco De La Tarde', (Spanish for the 5th of Tard) Should be 'Cinco De La Tarde', (Spanish for five in the afternoon) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.190.206.210 (talk) 09:16, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is what KROQ put on the website. I think it's a joke. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kjbleu (talkcontribs) 21:29, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why isn’t the hoax they did mentioned?

[edit]

What about the hoax that they did? https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1994-09-24-ca-42528-story.html 2601:483:101:86B5:589E:2184:D2AF:684E (talk) 23:09, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean the "Little Black Back Pack" theft? The backpack was supposed to be the show's producer's and was stolen at a live event. Strangely the description matched the lines in a popular song of the time (Little Black Back Pack, Stroke 9). Or are we talking of the on the air call in murder confession that another KROQ employee revealed as a hoax and then the LA Police Department claimed they had spent $100,000 investigating and got Kevin And Bean suspended for a week?

The best parts of Kevin and Bean were 1990 to 2002, and somehow none of that is mentioned in the article.Corumplex (talk) 02:02, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
