Wrong Name

[edit]

Can the Tomson please be removed from this? It is Kirsty Howat not Thomson-Howat? 81.145.194.98 (talk) 08:54, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I've started a formal discussion below in respect of this. Jellyman (talk) 12:58, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It’s Howat-Thomson officially, but she goes by Howat. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A0A:EF40:1301:A401:3946:CC0D:8E60:DCD0 (talk) 20:10, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: moved. Favonian (talk) 16:01, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Kirsty Howat-ThomsonKirsty Howat – Unsure where the 'Thomson' comes from or why it is included in the page title. Even if it is her legal name - and I don't know if it is - it isn't mentioned in the article text or any of the cited sources, and she is only listed as Howat by Rangers, the SFA, Soccerway, etc., and on her own social media. Jellyman (talk) 12:57, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Support I have found sources that say her surname is Howat-Thomson,[1][2] but not a majority. Page should be moved but this surname should be mentioned in a footnote. Snowmanonahoe (talk) 15:22, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support with the same reservation as @Snowmanonahoe. I think we can close the discussion here per WP:SNOW; what happens to "Thomson" in the article could be further discussed, but the move itself appears completely uncontroversial. Since the editor making the original request is an IP editor, it might have been more appropriate to use a technical move request, which doesn't come with the recommended 7-day discussion period. I really don't see how anyone could reasonably object to this move, so I will give it a little more time and then implement the request. Actualcpscm (talk) 10:55, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind. Since I expressed support for the request, I'm an involved editor and shouldn't close it. Good morning to me. trout Self-trout Actualcpscm (talk) 12:17, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
