"consensus" that top-tier tour umpires are not WP notable

[edit]

Where and when did this talk take place? Can't see how highest level tennis umpires are less notable than MLB umpires, Premier League soccer referees, etc. Mayumashu (talk) 20:29, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ATP World Tour and WTA Tour level umpires are just as notable as NFL referees, FIFA referees, etc. etc. The umpires listed should be wikilinked. Mayumashu (talk) 11:35, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Imo NFL refs and fifa refs are not notable either (except maybe for one or two). Not exactly a lot of press coverage of them as individuals. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:13, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gold Badge only

[edit]

This is a list of gold badge umpires only. I'm not sure why other lesser umpires have been added so they were removed. I have sourced a whole bunch now, and I'll get to more soon. Fyunck(click) (talk) 21:57, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Title needs to be changed

[edit]

This title is incorrect. The word umpire in tennis also referrers to the line judges. This title needs to be changed to reflect that this is a group of ITF certified Gold Badge Chair Umpires. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.234.111.8 (talk) 13:23, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
