Argob

[edit]

The article fails to mention that these sixty walled cities described by Dr. Porter, were later dated to a much later age than the Bronze or Iron I period, and probably represent buildings from the Greco-Roman period. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.175.50.181 (talk) 16:08, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

LejatLajat – Lajat is the right English pronunciation of the region's Arabic name, it is also the spelling used in UNESCO official documents --aad_Dira (talk) 13:09, 24 September 2012 (UTC).[reply]

  • Actually, the real Arabic pronunciation of the name is Lajah, or more precisely Al-Lajah. I proposed Lajat because it is the spelling using in UNESCO document of the biosphere reserve, but if Lajah is really the most common, maybe it is better --aad_Dira (talk) 17:16, 25 September 2012 (UTC).[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

I purpose this page to be merged with Lajat article, since they talk about the same geographical region. It is possible to create a new section in Lajat article talking about the region mentions in the bible (I purpose information about As-safa hills to be merged with its own article in a similar section for the bible), because I don't see a good reason to make a separate article talking only about the region in the bible, in addition to the fact that Trachonitis is known to be a general historical name for Lajat during the Romanian period --aad_Dira (talk) 18:29, 1 October 2012 (UTC).[reply]

Support Trachonitis should clearly be in a history sub-section of Lajat. GenQuest (talk) 03:29, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for making the merge! --aad_Dira (talk) 07:50, 19 December 2012 (UTC).[reply]
