Apparently, at least one of the entries has a "spaced ndash" template in the dates portion. Some others have just the dash. They both end up the same, but it's obviously not consistent. So, shall we pick one and then just change the other? MSJapan (talk) 23:57, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if you look here: Talk:List of Freemasons#List of Freemasons:Manual of Style I proposed using spaced ndash. Eric Cable  |  Talk  12:42, 21 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Personally, I don't care... but I would advise asking the good folks at WP:MOS... they get very picky about how to format dates, when to use dashes, and things like that. Blueboar (talk) 13:01, 21 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I just moved a page on our web site and tried to update the url in the footnotes - it comes up with an error. I've tried to fix it, but without luck Melbournemason (talk) 12:44, 30 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Trimming rationale

[edit]

In the interests of WP:NOTGENEOLOGY I've trimmed the dates of birth and death to years only. This gives the reader an accurate idea of when a particular Mason lived. If the reader wants more info, they can go to the particular Wikipedia article for the notable Mason. This gives us a cleaner and more consistent listing. Also, non-notable (e.g. no WP names) are removed. This is IAW WP:WTAF. – S. Rich (talk) 17:20, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
