This list is not complete — missing Colmar von der Goltz. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1:933F:B520:5410:89C8:E684:9AB (talk) 10:08, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

Is this list complete? Emperor001 (talk) 15:35, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is now ... five years later! Jonas Vinther (speak to me!) 23:17, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wellington

[edit]

Is there a reason Wellington is omitted as he was a Prussian FM? Garlicplanting (talk) 14:51, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone confirm that this person was really a FM? Gbawden (talk) 08:55, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like a hoax to me. A German field marshal with no article on German Wikipedia? Who died in a prison camp in an English town in Ireland!? I don't think so. Created by an editor who only made this single edit in his entire Wikipedia career. Speedy delete material I think. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:28, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Definately a hoax: there was no such German generalfeldmarschall during the Second World War. The list of those is well known. The article Ernst Fresser should be nominated for (speedy)) deletion. -- fdewaele, 12 June 2014, 13:22 CET.

November 2014

[edit]

I have massive improved and expanded the article. Will nominate it for GA-status and then get it to FA-status. Inputs and help along the reviews would be helpful. Jonas Vinther (speak to me!) 16:34, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I notice some foreign honorary recipients, such as King George V and the Ottoman Sultans, have been removed from this list. Why is this? In other lists of field marshals it has been usual to include such royal honorary appointments and a number do seem to have been kept on this list. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:18, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If someone has been removed from the list which existed before my expansion it's because I was unable to find a source for them. Jonas Vinther (speak to me!) 00:21, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

January 2015

[edit]

I didn't get the article to FA-status, as planned, in November 2014. While my initial improvement and expansion did the bulk of the work, the lead needs some copy editing and improvements here and there. If you do have some ideas on how to help regarding these points, please show initiative and edit away. Thanks a bunch. Jonas Vinther (speak to me!) 01:42, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not just German Field Marshals

[edit]

The list contains many people who did not serve under German governments. 2601:14D:4681:54A0:D492:3223:DE63:37AC (talk) 17:08, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
